Under the Alabama Motor Carrier Act and the Public Service Commission's Administrative Code (770-X-10-.04), no person may engage in business as a broker without furnishing a bond or other approved security of not less than $10,000, in a form that insures the broker's financial responsibility and the supplying of authorized transportation under the broker's contracts and arrangements. This is the intrastate PSC broker bond, separate from any federal FMCSA broker (BMC-84) requirement.
