The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed-Price Purchase Order to 10x Genomics for GEM-X Single Cell 5’ Gene Expression Kits and Companion Reagents.
The Government intends to solicit from a single source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
The requirement is for the following supplies:
(2) GEM-X Universal 5’ Gene Expression v3 Kits – 48 samples
(2) GEM-X Universal 5’ Gene Expression v3 Kits – 4 samples
(4) Chromium GEM-X Single Cell 5’ Chip Kits v3 – 4 chips
(4) Dual Index Kit TT Set A Kits – 96 reactions
These kits and companion reagents will be used to analyze single-cell/single-nucleus gene expression profiles across approximately 96 individuals. The assays will complement data already collected from matched study participants using the 10x Genomics platform. Maintaining compatibility with the existing data and established assay workflow is necessary to ensure that the resulting data can be integrated and analyzed consistently with the previously collected datasets. The resulting resource will be used to identify molecular risk factors, regulatory mechanisms, and potential therapeutic targets for cardiometabolic diseases.
10x Genomics is the sole manufacturer and authorized source for the required GEM-X Universal 5’ Gene Expression v3 kits and associated GEM-X single-cell reagents specified in this requirement. The required products are proprietary to 10x Genomics and are necessary to maintain compatibility with the existing 10x Genomics-based research workflow and previously collected data.
This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. However, interested parties that believe they can meet the Government's requirements may submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to provide the required supplies and meet all specified technical and operational requirements.
The Government will consider all timely capability statements received and determine whether the acquisition should proceed as a sole-source procurement or be competed.
The Government anticipates making an award approximately five (5) calendar days after the closing date of this notice, unless the Government determines that another responsible source is capable of meeting the requirement.
Capability statements shall be submitted electronically to haunp@mail.nih.gov no later than 9:00 a.m. EDT on September 21, 2026.
