Aerial Spraying / Reforestation, NAS Meridian

The contractor will prepare the site for reforestation by applying 32 oz. Imazapyr 4, 32 oz. Glyphosate 4, 4 oz. SFM Extra, and 16 oz. of a 90/10 surfactant and 10 gallons of water per acre. The spraying should be completed by October 31, 2026. The contractor will be responsible for providing all the necessary labor, chemicals, materials, vehicles and equipment to apply the herbicides to the designated tract. The contractor shall guarantee 95% coverage of the area designated with the herbicide rate prescribed for the tract. The contractor shall also guarantee at least 80% of covered area to be 'free to grow' from hardwood competition for 2 full growing seasons. For tree planting, the contractor must furnish all necessary seedlings, labor, materials, vehicles and equipment to plant seedlings on the designated tracts. The seedlings geographic seed source origin must be suitable for Kemper/Lauderdale Counties, Mississippi. Planting must begin no earlier than December 15, 2026 and be completed no later than March 15, 2027. Planting must use quality genetically improved containerized loblolly pine seedlings at a spacing of 10' x 8' (544 seedlings per acre) with an allowable variance of +/- 50 seedlings per acre. Planting may be performed by using dibble bar or container plug planters. Seedling plugs must be kept moist prior to and during planting, planted deep enough to cover the root plug completely, and firmly packed with mineral soil. No planting will be done when the ground is frozen or extremely dry. In case of failure to plant at least 90 percent of the trees in a satisfactory manner, the contractor will replant at his own expense.
