The contractor shall completely prepare the site for construction renovation operations, including demolition and removal of existing architectural components, and furnish all labor and materials necessary to renovate the finishes of two separate areas of the hospital. The work includes removal of existing wall and ceiling pictures, frames, signage, and hangings; demolition of existing flooring, resilient wall base, wall wainscotting, corner guards, hand-rails, crash guards, ceiling tiles, grid, HVAC grilles, registers, diffusers, and luminaires; installation of new flooring, resilient cove base, stainless steel corner guards, hand-rails, wall protection, wall finish and painting, ceiling tiles, grid, HVAC grilles, registers, diffusers, and luminaires; refinishing drywall where necessary to prime and paint all walls; and replacing outlet, switch, and plate covers. A bid deduct item includes furnishing and installing a new acoustical or phenolic wood ceiling and suspension assembly in the vaulted ceiling of the 1st floor ED waiting area, demolishing existing soffit alcove uplighting and installing a new integrated lighting system, rerouting HVAC outlet diffusers, and testing and balancing the HVAC system.
