The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking competitive bids from qualified local commercial refrigeration contractors to replace the complete refrigeration system for the Main Freezer located at our Central Facility.
The selected contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision required to perform the following: safely recover existing refrigerant per EPA regulations, dismantle, remove, and properly dispose of the existing outdoor unit, evaporator coils, and associated piping/wiring; supply and install a new outdoor condensing unit engineered to match the cooling capacity and load requirements of the Main Freezer; supply and install two (2) new evaporator coils with electronic/intelligent defrost controls suitable for a low-temperature commercial freezer application; supply all necessary refrigerant (EPA-compliant for low-temperature commercial applications) required to charge, test, and balance the system; supply and install all necessary mechanical refrigeration piping, insulation, control wiring, and final utility hookups to make the system fully operational. Contractors must also explicitly detail in their proposal any required site modifications or owner-provided infrastructure, including electrical, concrete/pad work, and mechanical supports.
