Services will include but are not limited to equipment repairs or replacements such as pipeline repairs,
valve, gate, blower, pump replacements or other infrastructure associated with treatment plants or pump
stations. Contractors shall have qualified staff specialized in treatment plant and utility infrastructure repair
or replacements as part of its organization. Contractors may also be required to provide system startup
assistance. Possible subcontracted/third party services consisting of mechanical, electrical, plumbing,
structural or equipment related testing may be required.
Selected contractors may be required to respond quickly for temporary or more permanent repairs to
address urgent and possible emergency situations. The contractors selected through this RFP process will
work closely with the City’s Project Manager to determine the scope of services of each individual project.
The contractor will be responsible for visiting the site and gathering all the information required to provide a
fee quote. Project fees shall not exceed $50,000 for each project with a maximum total not to exceed
$700,000 per year per contractor. In addition, the contractors shall:

2. Be able to provide services including repairs on large-diameter pipes, valves, and pump stations in
an expeditious manner to assist the City in the event of an emergency situation.
3. Be able to provide shop drawings for services as required in a prompt and expeditious manner
based on a schedule mutually agreed upon with the City’s Project Manager.
4. Be able to follow the City of Wichita’s standard engineering processes including but not limited to
following regulatory requirements such as KDHE or storm water pollution prevention if required,
etc.
5. Contractor must have the ability to subcontract professional services with a licensed Kansas
engineer to assist on projects if necessary.
