SJCE currently has Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) configured and in the early stages of implementation. Respondents should assume that the SJCE’s SFMC environment is operational but not yet fully mature. Specific information regarding the SFMC edition, Business Unit structure, and licensed components will be shared with the selected consultant during contract negotiations and project onboarding, as appropriate.

The anticipated engagement is expected to focus primarily on optimization, training, and capability building within SJCE's existing SFMC environment. Key objectives include helping staff effectively utilize existing functionality, establish best practices, and develop internal expertise in areas such as customer journeys, landing pages, templates, segmentation, and reporting.

While SJCE does not currently anticipate a large-scale reimplementation or rebuild of SFMC, respondents should expect some configuration and development work over the contract term. This may include creating or refining email templates, customer journeys, data extensions, automations, landing pages, and related assets as the SJCE's use of SFMC evolves.

SJCE seeks a flexible partner who can provide strategic guidance, technical expertise, and hands-on coaching to support both optimization of the existing configuration and incremental enhancements as business needs mature.

At this time, San Jose Clean Energy (SJCE) has configured and begun implementing Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC), and therefore historical campaign metrics and usage volumes are limited. SJCE's current use of SFMC is focused on customer communications and marketing activities supporting approximately 350,000 residential and business customer accounts. The consultant will not be responsible for sending campaigns on behalf of the SJCE; rather, the consultant will coach and train staff to independently build, manage, and optimize SFMC assets and workflows.

The selected consultant will serve in an advisory, coaching, and training capacity to help SJCE marketing staff maximize the use of SFMC. Specifically, the consultant will provide guidance and hands-on training related to:

Development and management of email templates and content blocks

Customer journey design and automation

Landing page creation and best practices

Data extensions, segmentation, and audience management

Reporting, analytics, and performance measurement

SFMC governance and operational best practices

SJCE staff currently possess a basic understanding of email creation and sends, but seek to build internal capacity and long-term self-sufficiency in advanced SFMC capabilities.
