Statewide Stormwater Improvements - PROTECT Grant

The project includes constructing 89 stormwater treatment units (STUs) across 10 watersheds in Rhode Island. Work items include handling, hauling, and stockpile management of contaminated and unclassified soils (59,241 tons); load, haul, and dispose of soil Type 1 (9,928 tons); load and haul contaminated soil Types 2, 3, 4 (14,353, 14,353, and 20,607 tons respectively); disposal of contaminated soil Types 2, 3, 4 (14,353, 14,353, and 20,607 tons respectively); load, haul, and disposal of contaminated soil Type 5 (50,000 tons); maintenance and cleaning of erosion, sediment, and pollution prevention controls; field office (24 months); mobilization; furnish, install, maintain, and move temporary traffic control; and numerous stormwater treatment structures including hydrodynamic separators, infiltration swales, infiltration basins, underground infiltration systems, armored channels, water quality swales with detention, extended detention basins, lined underground sand filters, lined sand filters, sand filters, wet swales/basins, wet basins, IC disconnections, stabilized gravel paved lots, and pavement removal.
