Third Street Grade Separation at BNSF Railroad

The project generally includes the construction of an underpass at the location of Third Street and the
BNSF tracks. The project consists of, but is not limited to, the following major activities:

• Construction of a quadruple track concrete bridge structure.
• Construction of retaining walls.
• Excavation and grading of Third Street for approximately 1,340 feet, from approximately 400
feet west of the BNSF crossing to approximately 940 feet east of the BNSF crossing.
• Construction of a new roadway pavement along Third Street, including concrete curbs, gutters,
sidewalks, wheelchair ramps, driveways and retaining walls.
• Reconfiguration of local streets.
• Relocation, reconstruction and realignment of wet and dry utilities, including, but not limited to,
the Riverside Canal.
• Construction of storm drain pipes, catch basins, and a new pump station.
• Construction of a storm water detention basin.
• Reconstruction/Modification of existing traffic signals.
• Installation of landscaping and irrigation improvements.
• Installation of new traffic signing and striping.
• Demolition and removal of buildings and improvements on two (2) parcels that have been
acquired, by the City, for the project.

Any questions, interpretations, or clarifications, either administrative or technical, about this Bid must be submitted via “Q&A” through the City’s Electronic Bidding System, PlanetBids Vendor Portal. All written questions posted on the City’s electronic bidding website, and Proposers identified as “Prospective Bidders” on the City’s website will receive a notification via email. Notes
The Contractor shall obtain and pay for all licenses necessitated by the Contractor's operations. Prior to starting any work, the Contractor shall be required to have a City of Riverside Business Tax Registration valid for the life of the Contract; subcontractors shall also have Business Tax Registrations valid for the time they are engaged in the work.
