The Community College of Philadelphia is bidding out a project for the replacement and upgrade of the heat pump units, house pumps, and motor units for our Northeast Regional Center (NERC) building. Our overall goal is to replace the existing, end-of-life infrastructure with new, high-efficiency systems. By replacing and upgrading these units, we will improve our energy efficiency, building comfort, and operational reliability. The project requires the replacement of forty-four (44) heat pumps and four (4) house pumps. During the pre-bid walk-through, the HVAC contractor must identify the tonnage, size, and voltage of each individual heat pump to ensure accurate bidding. All existing heat pumps have far exceeded their useful lifespan, with several units completely non-operational or running well below their intended efficiency.
