Description

The Town of Willsboro owns and operates Sewer District No. 1, which serves the Hamlet of Willsboro through a centralized wastewater collection system and Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The existing WWTP was upgraded to a membrane bioreactor (MBR) treatment process in 2019. Since that time, the facility has experienced recurring hydraulic capacity limitations, flow exceedances, and overflow events during wet weather conditions. Engineering evaluations have identified deficiencies associated with the existing equalization system, treatment capacity, solids handling facilities, and supporting infrastructure.
