The contractor shall coordinate New Mexico's state-level National History Day competition and New Mexico's participation in the national-level competition, working in collaboration with the National History Day organization. Tasks include encouraging participation by students in grades 6-12; supporting and subsidizing travel for approximately sixty state-level competition winners, necessary chaperones, contractor support staff, and at least one adult representative to the national competition in Washington, DC; encouraging local, regional, and statewide contest involvement; adhering to national theme and guidelines; ensuring high standards for judging; conducting outreach to teachers and providing educational and publicity materials; implementing online and in-person professional development for teachers; continuing a statewide advisory committee; acting as a liaison between regional coordinators and the National History Day program office; participating in fundraising efforts; providing a final written report by June 30, 2027, describing activities, number of students (working toward at least 2,000), number of state finalists (approximately 60), and number of counties (encouraging active participation in at least 15 of 33 counties); and including the DCA logo and the sentence 'funded in part by the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs' in all publications and advertising related to this contract.
