Category: COMMODITIES
The university's aquaculture research program requires custom-formulated catfish feed in two versions—3% lipid control and 6% lipid treatment, both 28% crude protein—manufactured in 10-ton batches by Fish Belt Feeds, Inc., for use in a commercial-scale production study evaluating dietary lipid effects on catfish growth, feed efficiency, fillet yield and quality, and overwinter survival. The project is expected to require approximately 300 tons of feed at an estimated cost of about $425 per ton delivered.
