The contractor shall provide non-emergency medical transportation services for both ambulatory and wheelchair bound residents to and from medical appointments, hospitals, and the Home. Transportation services shall be available 24 hours per day, seven days a week, including weekdays and holidays. The contractor must provide an adequate number of properly licensed and insured vehicles, including wheelchair accessible vans and/or buses, and furnish all equipment necessary to safely transport residents with varying mobility needs. Transportation personnel shall be appropriately trained and qualified to assist residents during transport and shall comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and safety requirements governing non-emergency medical transportation services.
