Tattnall County is soliciting bids on resurfacing of approximately 17.57 miles on various roads in Tattnall County. The contractor will be given a 14-day notice to proceed. There will be a MANDATORY pre-bid construction meeting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Tattnall County Courthouse, 108 W. Brazell Street, Reidsville, GA in the Chairman's Conference Room on the 1st floor. Bid deadline will be 10:00 a.m., September 29, 2026. Sealed bids will be opened and read aloud at this time. Tattnall County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. TATTNALL COUNTY
Bids are requested for leveling/resurfacing, striping, shoulder grading and shoulder paving of
approximately 17.57 miles/20-24 ft. wide of county roads. The installation of 12 rumble strips is also
included. The roads to be resurfaced include Handy Kennedy Rd., Ronny Collins Rd., Buster Brown Rd.,
Burkhalter Rd., Levi H Kennedy Rd., D L Durrence Rd., Martha Jo Durrence Rd., Liberty St., Magnolia St.,
Mendes Plum St., Pine St., Mincey Loop, Pecan Rd., and Old Hwy 250, which also includes 2’ of shoulder
paving. Leveling will also be required on portions of Burkhalter Rd., Levi H Kennedy Rd., and Mincey
Loop at marked areas. Leveling to be done with 1½”/165 lbs. per sq. yd. of Recycled ASPH Conc.
Leveling, Incl Bitum. Material & H Lime. Roads are to be Resurfaced with 1½”/165 lbs. per sq.yd. of
Recycled ASPH Conc. 12.5mm Super pave GP 2 only, Incl. Bitum Material & H Lime. Apply tack coat
between leveling/existing surface and topping. No Deep Base Patching is required. Shoulder grading to
include clipping shoulders prior to resurfacing, and tilling/building shoulders to match resurfaced
pavement. Additional material is to be added If grade from edge of pavement to edge of shoulder
exceeds 5%. Stripe with solid white line on edge and solid/skip double yellow line in the center with 24”
stop bars at each intersection. “High Build Paint” per GDOT specification “652 – Painting Traffic Stripe”
is to be used for striping. Centerline is to be marked with temporary tape or striping between
resurfacing and final striping. A certification from the striping contractor verifying material and
placement specifications will be required. The contractor is responsible for placing low shoulder and
advanced warning signs.
