0002 RFQ - SOI Structural Engineering Assessment - Classroom Building WW2 Airbase

The City of Douglas soliciting Statements of Qualifications from qualified structural engineering firms to conduct a comprehensive structural assessment of the historic Classroom Building located at the World War II Flight Training Base in Douglas, Georgia.

The purpose of this assessment is to evaluate the existing structural condition of the building, identify areas of deterioration or structural concern, determine immediate and long-term stabilization needs, and provide recommendations for preservation, rehabilitation, and future use of the structure in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.

3. Historic Preservation Experience
   Description of at least three comparable historic preservation or
   structural assessment projects completed within the last ten years;
   Experience working with National Register properties, Georgia local
   governments, State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPO), Georgia
   Department of Community Affairs, federally funded preservation
   projects, WWII-era buildings, and compliance with the Secretary of the
   Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
