Guidelines for Proposers or Other Non-Employees Who Frequent the School and
Have Limited Access to Students:
• Non-employees are only to have contact with students as determined necessary by school
administration or designee. For example, vendors marketing products are not to initiate or
continue conversations or activities with students, unless authorized to do so by the
administration/designee.
• Non-employees are only to be in the building in designated areas necessary to conduct
their specific responsibilities.
• Non-employees should not react to student actions/behavior other than to report these
actions to the administration.
• Non-employees, while on school premises, are expected to conduct themselves properly
in both actions and speech.
• Non-employees are authorized to be on school premises only during regular school hours
or during times pre-arranged with the school administration.
• Except where the Principal has provided specific written permission, non-employees who
conduct business within a school must do so without soliciting students to participate or aid
them in performing their responsibilities.

The contractor will provide custodial services including daily cleaning (spot cleaning floors, vacuuming mats, dust mopping/sweeping, spot washing walls/doors, cleaning plumbing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, emptying trash, mopping floors), periodic tasks (machine buffing floors, window/door cleaning, strip/seal/wax), and summer cleaning (stripping and scrubbing tile floors with a minimum of 6 coats of wax on hallways, cafeterias and high traffic areas, 5 coats in classrooms, washing all windows and glass partitions, pressure washing all facility entrances). Grounds work includes removing trash and debris, emptying trash containers, sweeping entrances and curbs, and removing graffiti. Special event cleaning includes maintaining restrooms, common areas, trash cans, and areas around concession stands during ballgames, plays, conferences, and board meetings. The contractor must also open and secure buildings, inspect previous night's cleaning, inspect building exterior for unauthorized entry, clean up after meals and sick children, stock restrooms, unload delivery trucks, change light bulbs, replace ceiling tiles, assemble and move furniture, and set up for school events.
