The Chicago Park District (Park District) is soliciting bids for the supply and delivery of topsoil (black earth).
The Awardee (as such term is defined in the General Conditions of this IFB) shall provide all equipment, fuel, labor, materials, transportation, trucks, vehicles, and any/all other services necessary to supply and deliver topsoil (black earth) to locations throughout the Park District in accordance with the terms and conditions of this specification. Additionally, the Awardee will provide products of the highest and best quality that are competitively priced and delivered in a timely manner.
Districtwide, the Park District maintains over 9,000 acres of turf-grass and other landscaped areas, including more than 1,000 turf-based athletic fields which are used year-round. Park District landscape areas represent a significant recreational resource for the public. The successful management of these landscapes is a critical component of the Park District’s stated mission as a provider of safe, inviting and well-maintained recreational opportunities.
