The Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a Vendor to provide repair and maintenance services to the freight and passenger elevators at the Illinois School for the Deaf (ISD) located at 125 S. Webster Ave., Jacksonville, IL and Illinois School for the Visually Impaired (ISVI) located at 658 E. State St., Jacksonville IL.
Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on September 17, 2026 at 10am at Illinois School for the Deaf at 125 S. Webster, Jacksonville. Bidding vendor must attend.
The Vendor shall provide materials, tools/equipment, and a Journeyman to perform preventative maintenance, routine repairs, and emergency services on elevators at ISD and ISVI. Work includes monthly inspection, oiling, greasing, lubricating, and minor adjustments; cleaning of car tops, door equipment, pits, and machine rooms monthly; lubricating machine, motor, generator, and controller parts; renewing wire ropes at ISD as necessary; completing annual inspections; and performing a full load test in 2030 for ISD elevators. The Vendor must be available 24/7, respond to non-emergency requests within 2 hours and complete repairs within 7 days, and respond to emergencies within 2 hours and complete repairs within 48 hours. All work is to be performed during normal working days (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm) unless prior approval is granted.
