Pre-Bid Conference: A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 501 S 2nd Street, Rm 037, Springfield, IL 62756.
The work includes tile and mastic asbestos removal on the first, second, and fifth floors of the Howlett Building, including specific areas such as the first floor south and west office areas, second floor northwest office suite, fifth floor north suite, and fifth floor mezzanine. The contractor must furnish all labor, material, equipment, and services, including disposal, for per-call abatement and insulation work. Work shall be performed during normal business hours (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday) and in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations including the Illinois Asbestos Abatement Act. The contractor is responsible for proper removal and disposal of all debris, cleaning impacted areas, implementing safety measures, and securing materials and equipment. The contractor must also comply with all applicable building codes and provide certified supervision of all asbestos work.
