The sequencing system is required to support CCR Genomics Core operations that provide long-read genomic sequencing services essential to intramural cancer research programs. The PromethION 2 Integrated platform provides advanced long-read DNA and RNA sequencing capabilities, real-time analysis, integrated GPU-accelerated basecalling, modified base detection, and full compatibility with existing ONT PromethION flow cells and validated CCR workflows. The CCR Genomics Core requires an upgrade from its current PromethION 2 Solo (P2 Solo) instrument, which relies on external compute hardware. The P2i integrates sequencing and high-performance compute into a single platform, reducing workflow complexity, eliminating external workstation dependencies, decreasing turnaround time, and supporting high-throughput sequencing operations for structural variant analysis, epigenetic profiling, transcriptomic characterization, and de novo genome assembly research.
