The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to modernize the audio systems for the historic Coolidge Auditorium. The 485-seat venue was constructed as an addition in 1925 for the primary purpose of hosting chamber music concerts. During the mid-1990’s it experienced an upgrade to several components which included adding structed audio amplification, wall panels, floor boxes, audio patch bays, and equipment racks. This analog infrastructure is mostly inoperable, and most of the devices once connected have been decommissioned. To support the wide-range of performances, lectures, and other events that occur in the space – portable audio equipment is loaded in/out for every event. This modernization effort for the audio systems will replace the existing analog infrastructure with digital audio equipment to remove the use of audio equipment housed in road cases, visible cable runs through the house – and provide a modern audio solution that complements the original acoustic quality of the auditorium.
The Contractor shall design and implement a new audio system for the Library’s Coolidge Auditorium.
Amendment 0001
The purpose of this amendment is to include a site visit and revised the date the questions are due. See attached amendment.
The Contractor shall design and implement a new audio system for the Library's Coolidge Auditorium. The Contractor shall replace existing analog audio infrastructure and its associated devices with a modern IP based solution that utilizes Dante as the primary audio transport protocol over standard ethernet. The Contractor shall provide installation, commissioning, documentation, training, and warranty for the proposed solution. Specific tasks include: site survey and system design; removal of existing audio equipment; provision and installation of gigabit ethernet switches, cabling and connectivity, front-of-house speakers, front-of-house audio console and devices (including a Yamaha DM series console, wireless receiver, solid state recorder, and recording computer), monitor mix audio console, recording booth audio console and devices, technical furniture (front-of-house audio desk and lighting desk, monitor mix cart, custom lectern), headphones, and installation of government furnished equipment (battery charging bay, intercom system, PTZ broadcast cameras, lighting console). The Contractor shall also provide as-built wiring diagrams and a one-year warranty.
