Forest Service (USFS) is soliciting a proposal from qualified vendors for five (5) Type 3H (Heavy) fire engines, body only configuration, to be installed on Government-furnished 4X4 cab and chassis. Scope includes chassis modifications and preparation, installation of the body, fire pump, 750-gallon water tank, warning lights, required graphics package, and all components necessary to deliver a complete operational unit. Apparatus must meet Forest Service national standard specifications, including compliance with NFPA 1900 unless otherwise specified.
Proposal shall include delivery of each unit and on-site familiarization training. Vendors shall demonstrate their capability to produce apparatus meeting the requirements of the USFS, summarized in executive form.
The contractor shall provide five Type 3H Fire Engine Bodies, Model 348, on Government-furnished 4X4 chassis, per Forest Service specifications (Model 328/348 Type 3H Fire Engine Body Only, May 2025). Scope includes chassis modifications and preparation, installation of the body, fire pump, 750-gallon water tank, warning lights, required graphics package, and all components necessary to deliver a complete operational unit. Apparatus must meet Forest Service national standard specifications, including compliance with NFPA 1900 unless otherwise specified. The contractor shall also provide delivery of each unit to specified locations (Custer, SD; Ft. Collins, CO; John Day, OR; Corvallis, OR) and on-site familiarization training. The contractor shall submit a production schedule, provide monthly updates, notify the COR one month prior to completion, arrange delivery within ten days of final inspection, and provide operational training within a month of delivery.
