Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Freefly Astro
To procure a US-made drone platform, the Freefly Astro. In addition to the Astro we will be procuring the associated SL8-Air smart batteries and charger. This platform is intended to carry various spectral sensors for mapping and monitoring harmful algal bloom, and ice cover.
The contractor must provide a Freefly Astro drone platform (Max Astro Max drone platform (2) and accessories) that supports multiple spectral sensors including the dual camera Micasense RX and WIRIS thermal camera, allows exchanging payloads based on mission requirements, has a flight time of 15 minutes or greater under payload, passes NOAA UAS airworthiness certification for Wide Area Field Operations, is covered under NOAA UAS training program, and is compliant with NDAA and FCC UAS regulations.
