East Canal Efficiency Improvements

The work involves furnishing and installing several sections of pipeline, diverting existing open-channel water from the West Loutsenhizer Arroyo into a pipeline system for the Uncompahgre Project to supplement the East Canal, and upgrading existing components of the East Canal. This includes furnishing and installing 36-inch HDPE pipes, two parallel 54-inch HDPE pipes, and 48-inch and 42-inch polypropylene pipes, as well as furnishing and placing concrete for hydraulic structures and fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metalwork. Specific tasks include mobilization, removal of existing features, earthwork for concrete structures, construction of the West Loutzy Diversion Pipeline with concrete inlet and outlet structures and approximately 4,200 feet of 36-inch HDPE pipe, construction of the East Canal Side Channel Spillway with concrete structure and polypropylene pipe, construction of the Double Barrel Siphon with inlet and outlet structures and approximately 170 feet of two parallel 54-inch HDPE pipe, construction of the East Canal Ramp Flume Structure, construction of the GK Check Structure, miscellaneous metal work, clearing and grubbing, and installing various valves, PVC pipe, and appurtenances.
