The types of facilities to be commissioned may include office/administration, hospitals, health clinics, laboratories, or combinations thereof.
Commissioning is a systematic quality-assurance process used to verify and document that building systems and components are designed, installed, tested, started, operated, and maintained in accordance with NYC Health & Hospitals Project Requirements, Basis of Design, contract documents, and applicable performance criteria. The commissioning process shall confirm, prior to Substantial Completion and Owner acceptance, that the systems are complete and functioning as intended and that NYC Health & Hospitals facility staff have received adequate operating documentation and training.
NYC Health & Hospitals will contract directly with a qualified Commissioning Services Provider, who will act as an extension of NYC Health & Hospitals designated staff and may provide services from the predesign and design phases through construction, acceptance, and the warranty period.
The Commissioning Services Provider will perform systematic quality-assurance to verify building systems and components are designed, installed, tested, started, operated, and maintained according to project requirements. The provider will confirm prior to Substantial Completion and Owner acceptance that systems are complete and functioning, and that facility staff receive adequate operating documentation and training.
