RCW 22.09 conditions a Washington grain dealer or warehouse license on a surety bond to the State for the protection of producers and depositors. A warehouse bond is not less than $50,000 nor more than $750,000, computed at a per-bushel rate against licensed commodity storage capacity (RCW 22.09.090); a grain dealer bond is computed as a percentage of the commodities bought from producers, and a single bond covering both licenses is computed on whichever basis is greater. The bond remains in force without periodic renewal until the license is canceled, and the surety is released only on statutory notice (RCW 22.09.100).
