Texas sales and use tax is imposed under Tax Code Chapter 151, and the Comptroller may require a seller to file security — a continuous bond of seller, Comptroller form 01-752. The Comptroller fixes the amount in each case, and under § 151.253(b) the maximum that may be required is the greater of $100,000 or four times the seller's average monthly tax liability.
