Section 25-3307(2) requires a registration applicant to give the Secretary of State a surety bond or irrevocable letter of credit equal to double the amount of the largest funding in the past calendar year or fifty thousand dollars, whichever is greater. Fifty thousand is a floor, not a ceiling: a funder whose single largest prior-year funding exceeded half that figure has to post double the funding instead, so tell us the number and we will write the larger bond. The Secretary of State’s published bond form is pre-printed at $50,000 and runs to the following September 30, which is when every registration expires; section 25-3308 lets the Secretary of State set application and renewal fees by rule, and section 25-3309 governs issuance, refusal, suspension, temporary certificates and the annual data report.
